Sympathies on the sinusitis, and I hope that it improves. Sympathy also on the loss of a good bunny. That is very frustrating.

Gave blood today. Also had a meeting to discuss a project about paediatric data. Explaining statistics to the other people at the meeting was distinctly more painful than the needle. I wish to be quite definite on this point. It's where they make what they consider to be a brilliant suggestion, and you have to explain that not only did you suggest that ten minutes ago, they agreed to it and noted it down, and do so without embarrassing them in the process.

I would like snow rather than rain. This is a foolish wish, as snow would carry its own problems, but I'm expecting rain shortly (if I remember what the weather forecasters said correctly) and I am fed up with rain. Not depressed -- just annoyed, frustrated, irritated, bitter, and resentful. The pitter-patter against the window offends me. Getting soaked while going to and from work, mauger umbrella and cape, offends me even more. I'd like just a little bit of snow, just enough to let me look up at the grey sky and feel it on my face, to see it in a scattering on my coat, a powdering on leaves.

I'm not going to get it, though. Pfeh.

This entry sounds more aggrieved than I actually feel. I wander. I do the rectilinear meander. (Learned about that at school, and the term stuck.) I divagate. I equivocate. Faith, here's an equivocator at the gate who could not equivocate his way to heaven -- come in, equivocator!

The reign of Antoninus is marked by the rare advantage of furnishing very few materials for history, which is indeed little more than the register of the crimes, follies, and misfortunes of mankind. -- Gibbon, Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire
