quite cold enough
Jan. 13th, 2005 12:19 amWork on Coding Clinic index continues. Am currently on P, which stands for such things as Precocious puberty, and runs to over a page.
Also learned today how to use Adobe Illustrator to snip labels off diagrams in order to make them fit for tests and workshops. Interesting. (Would not necesssarily have volunteered to take over this part of job from soon-to-be-leaving head of training, but could see it coming, like light of oncoming train, and decided that volunteering first would be more graceful.)
Must send birthday present for aunt tomorrow (or sooner), or there will have been little point in actually remembering to buy her something in time for her birthday.
Sleepy somewhat early in evening. I think I blame the colder weather for this. I am quite aware that it is far colder where many of you are, but it's definitely cold enough for me here at the moment. Bed sounds good.
Am unlikely to attend Minamicon this year, given it's mid-March. Ah well. Coming to terms with it.

As Kingfishers Catch Fire
As kingfishers catch fire, dragonflies draw flame;
As tumbled over rim in roundy wells
Stones ring; like each tucked string tells, each hung bell's
Bow swung finds tongue to fling out broad its name;
Each mortal thing does one thing and the same:
Deals out that being indoors each one dwells;
Selves -- goes itself; _myself_ it speaks and spells,
Crying _What I do is me: for that I came_.
I say more: the just man justices;
Keeps grace: that keeps all his goings graces;
Acts in God's eye what in God's eye he is --
Christ. For Christ plays in ten thousand places,
Lovely in limbs, and lovely in eyes not his
To the Father through the features of men's faces.
