Some things can perhaps be foreseen.

Such as, when I happen to wander into a local fabric shop and see some lovely fabrics reduced to about half price (well, 60 per cent maybe), and some of them are different shades of a pattern that's vaguely similar to marbled stone or congealed molten metal, I mentally cry, "Aha! The perfect designs for a Hall of the Dragon Queen quilt!" and start buying.

I mean, you don't need to be precognitive to see that happening.

Do you remember when we went to that museum, and there were some display cases showing molten metal which had come up at the bottom of the ocean and set in interestingly whorled patterns, and I said that it would make a good flooring for a dragon king's hall? The fabrics are a bit like that.
