incandescens: (Flying Jacket)
We learn something new every day. Today I learned that "repair" and "reconstruction" do not necessarily mean the same thing in surgical terms, and had to phrase a query answer in order to explain that.

Alas, did not learn anything desperately interesting, but that's a different problem.

I'm quite enjoying a new manga I'm reading -- Eternal Sabbath by Fuyumi Soryo, shoujo horror mentalist stuff. Quite interesting. Several more volumes of it out in French; I may invest. (The author also wrote Mars, which is more standard shoujo fare, but I've never actually tried that.)

Watching the set of manga that I want to get for this month at Archonia slowly fill up. So Hikaru no Go is in, as is Hoshin Engi and Seimaden, but not Hunter x Hunter yet, nor Bleach or GetBackers or Angyo Onshi . . . we possesses our soul in patience, that we does. Fingers crossed for mid-June. (I know, I know, but it saves on postage.)

The Persian Version

Truth-loving Persians do not dwell upon
The trivial skirmish fought near Marathon.
As for the Greek theatrical tradition
Which represents that summer's expedition
Not as a mere reconnaisance in force
By three brigades of foot and one of horse
(Their left flank covered by some obsolete
Light craft detached from the main Persian fleet)
But as a grandiose, ill-starred attempt
To conquer Greece - they treat it with contempt;
And only incidentally refute
Major Greek claims, by stressing what repute
The Persian monarch and the Persian nation
Won by this salutary demonstration:
Despite a strong defence and adverse weather
All arms combined magnificently together.
