Title: a private show
Requester: [livejournal.com profile] urbia
Series: GetBackers
Requested Topic: As much smut as you could possibly pack into 100 words involving Kagami. Doesn't matter with whom.

He pulls the images from the separate mirrors together with his fingers, tangling them together in patterns of bare limbs and heaving flesh, and smiles at the picture they make. They writhe to the rhythm of his hands, the beat of his pulse; the proud serpent-boy holding the Lightning Emperor, sweet Lady Poison with the artist, the animal prince with his quiet blind musician, Sakura casting her silks around Makubex, the Prince of Battle and his two lovers in the one bed. All of them, his toys, his images, bare flesh naked to his eyes.

His fingers stroke the glass.

Title: no, they're not made of uranium
Requester: [livejournal.com profile] egelantier
Series: Bleach / GetBackers
Requested Topic: Hisagi from Bleach and Ban from GB, anything?
Due to http://incandescens.livejournal.com/589115.html

"You know," Ban said to Hisagi (they'd got round to sharing drinks, after the perfectly understandable property destruction), "there's one thing that puzzles me."

"What's that?"

"Well. When you saw Hevn. You didn't even blink."

"Is that strange?"

Ban gestured with cupped hands. "Most guys tend to be a bit hypnotised by the way they go up and down."

Hisagi shrugged. "I know someone brighter. Blonder. Bigger."

"No way."

"Way."

"They couldn't be bigger."

"Swear they are."

"Suppose we get them both in bikinis together?"

"I think the world would explode," Hisagi said sadly. "But what a way to go."

Thank goodness; they did still have space at the restaurant, and work Christmas team lunch is now set up for Dec 19th. And since our boss will be there as well, we won't have to hurry back to work too soon.

In the meantime, I really must get organised before postal deadlines start hitting for cards/presents to friends and so on. (Do I say this every year? I say this every year.)

Pear Tree

Silver dust
lifted from the earth,
higher than my arms can reach,
you have mounted.
O silver,
higher than my arms can reach
you front us with great mass;
no flower ever opened
so staunch a white leaf,
no flower ever parted silver
from such rare silver;
O white pear,
your flower-tufts,
thick on the branch,
bring summer and ripe fruits
in their purple hearts.

This morning I was running the daily report giving the number of terms waiting to be crossmapped. Yesterday's figures had shown 10 ICD and 167 OPCS codes for a total of 177, and I was comfortably looking forward to less than a hundred total today, after our work yesterday.

I look at the figures.

"Hazel," I say to my coworker, "do you want the good news or the bad news?"

"The good news," she says.

"We're competent, capable, well-adjusted people who can handle things."

"What's the bad news?"

"823 ICD terms."

"WHAT?"

I run some more report. "And 660 OPCS terms."

Apparently the terminologists had come up with a new rule which dumped a whole load more terms to be crossmapped into our part of the system.

So at least I needn't worry about not having enough to do . . .
