let me explain, no, let me sum up
Feb. 5th, 2016 03:19 amThe cross-mapping team recently acquired a new line manager, due to promotion inside our team and reshuffling. We're not complaining: both of us (yes, we're a small team) have constantly been saying that we don't want admin roles or extra responsibility, so we can hardly object when someone else in the team takes said admin role instead. And he'll probably be good at it.
But it did mean that in the checkpoint meeting today, which he was sitting in on, there was a lot of pausing and "you may already know about thing X - you don't? Okay, what we're talking about is..."
---
“So we now have the possibility that Jin Zhi wanted to get me looking for the book in order to drop in on me once I’d found it,” she commented. “What fun.”
“She might regret it if she did,” Kai said casually. “Interference with another dragon’s, ah...” He gave Irene a sideways look, and she could almost see the words property, possessions, and servants being considered and discarded. “Interests. It isn’t considered polite. It could even be a duelling offence.”
“I appreciate your tactfulness.” Irene felt she should make some allowances for a dragon who was doing his very best to use human-friendly vocabulary.
