Poor Ichigo, who would have thought that not knowing and forgetting what happened would have *all* these consequences after? I am still struck by the impact of how Ikkaku catches poor Ichigo up on exactly how much of Ichigo's world is now gone.
And Ichigo's own inner fight over when and how to protect Orihime is... it's perfect as a portrait of his conflict with himself and how he has to stay in control of what he can control. Ooof.
