I've got some more fabric from that nice friend-of-a-friend at the men's tailoring place, including some lovely bits of shirting cotton. Including some bits that are large enough to back a quilt with.

This is brilliant. Though I am starting to run a tiny bit short of space. Perhaps I should go against all my natural instincts and try to triage my stash just a little.

(You know, those "over my cold dead body" and "from my cold dead hands" natural instincts that come over one when asked to give up any part of one's crafting (beads/yarn/fabric) stash. Those perfectly natural, understandable instincts.)

I've been putting off really unpacking and sorting through all my beads and fabric and crafts-y stuff because I know, if I'm honest with myself, I should really get rid of a lot of it. But I have such a hard time doing it. I can be a ruthless purger with most things (just doing one side of my closet today yielded three huge garbage bags for the charity shop) but when it comes to craft stuff and books, I fail - my horder mind kicks in.

I totally sympathise. I too have a hoarder mind: I twitch at the very thought of letting a book or a useful craft thing go.

Bah, you just need to rent the flat next to you and put a Secret Door Behind A Bookcase to connect them.

Or possibly make more quilts. I wonder if you could kickstarter quilts...

Or sell some of those quilts I've made . . .

I suspect that to kickstart quilts, I'd need to be making them with silk and velvet and embroidering them with individual rpg systems or favourite book or manga characters. :)

(Believe me, I daydream about things like owning all the flats on my floor, or just owning a Big House with lots of rooms full of craft stuff and books. Not to mention being a fulltime novelist, or even just winning the lottery, and having lots of money, and . . . er, ahem.)

LOL! Yes! Still, I'm about to make a pile of yarn and quilting fabrics to donate to the senior activity center. I just don't need as much as I have and I'm no longer in love with it all.

But first, there's the swap tomorrow night amongst friends, where we attempt to trade what we no longer want for something we love. Everything unwanted after that goes to the activity center...
