incandescensI was taken by surprise when my coworkers surrounded my desk this afternoon, only to clue in (several seconds later) that they'd just got a birthday present for me -- and since I'm not going to be in at work on Friday (my actual birthday) and some of them weren't going to be around on Thursday, they were giving it to me today.
Under the circumstances, it would have been rude not to open the present and be appreciative, wouldn't it? Right?
So I opened it.
They gave me a Kindle. They'd actually got me an Amazon Kindle.
I still can't quite believe it.
(For the record, a Kindle 4. Wow. I'm definitely still in shock.)
(Okay, less in shock after having to get back to focusing on cross-mapping FAQs and responses to queries, but you know what I mean.)
