People at work are beginning to get just a little demob-happy with thoughts of Christmas. While pretty much everyone is going to be in at work next week, everyone is looking ahead to the week after that. People are going out to do some shopping during the lunch break, and coming back complaining about the crowds. An air of palpable smugness thickens as people compare how much of their Christmas present-buying is yet to do. Mince pies are observed around the office. People disclaim their diets until the new year.

Now if only there wasn't this "work" thing involved . . .
