incandescens | some go up and some go down

Didn't manage to get the new Scott Lynch today, much to my annoyance. Got to Waterstones to find that they had suddenly synchronised their release dates for the book (previously July 18, ie today) with that of Amazon (10th October, curses), and nobody seemed to know quite how it had happened, though the counter assistant did note that four other people had reserved copies too, which suggests that it wasn't just in my mind.

Oh well. Ended up getting another book on the way out (those bookshops, they'll sell you anything) which cheered me up somewhat.
