looking forward to next week

A rather dense day, in the sense of a number of high-focus, high-intensity tasks, plus a meeting where I had to pay a lot of attention to a number of things I don't understand very well just in case something involving my area came up.

I have next week off work. What a lovely thought. Roll on next week. I just need to make sure now that everything at work is tied off before I vanish for the week, as this is a time of year where a number of tasks have to be done on schedule.

... and then it'll probably rain all week. But at least I will have plenty of things to do indoors. (Like springcleaning. Alas. I hate springcleaning.)

Well, yes, cleaning is no fun. But there's the daily satisfaction of waking up and then turning on one's side and going back to sleep-- than which I know no pleasure greater.

This is often not possible with a Siamese on the other side of the door. (MYAH!)

I suppose technically it's not quite springcleaning yet, but there are a couple of cleaning jobs which I have been putting off, and salving my conscience with the thought that "I'll do them when I springclean", and they are getting to the point where they really need doing...

I was going to say "COME VISIT ME, WE HAVEN'T HAD RAIN SINCE DECEMBER!!!", but then I remembered I'm businesstripping the entire week. So, uh, don't come.

Cleaning is a necessary evil, but you could prepare by making sure you have something nice to drink and eat once you're done. In celebration of your great and glorious virtue. :)
