interviews and plans
Oct. 18th, 2014 03:46 amOkay, now it's over I can admit to it.
As part of the publicity run-up for The Invisible Library, Tor arranged a phone interview with me for SFX Magazine, for their New Author section. It happened just this evening (it was quite short) and the person who interviewed me said that it should be in the November issue of the magazine.
It was all set up in the last couple of days. This may be a good thing, actually, as it gave me less time to panic. I will now go and twitch in the corner. I don't think I said anything too stupid. I do remember claiming that it was an adventure story, and that I wanted to write something so gripping that people would be walking down the road while reading it, unable to close the book because they wanted to find out what would happen next.
I hope that doesn't come out sounding too stupid.
Anyhow. Weekend. I'm visiting York tomorrow for some shopping, plus a visit to a haunted corn maze thing. I've been curious about those for a few years now, and if I don't at least check one out, I'm going to stay curious for another year. There's a bus going to/from it from the centre of York, which will make my life much easier, and which I admit was a factor.
As I have been telling my colleagues at work, if I show up on Monday with my hair turned white, they'll know why.
