The Masked City is now released in the US.

There was much (Lindt) chocolate at work, and there was a nice meal out at Wagamama, and there was some drinking of an interesting orange rum liquor this evening, and all in all I'm feeling good.

I will now try to sleep. After all, I have one of the quarterly all-day meetings tomorrow. You know, the ones I complain about bitterly every time they happen. But it is at least a good thing that it wasn't today. Imagine if I hadn't been able to check my email or twitter or whatever all day today, due to proper decorum and being in meeting. That would have sent me up the wall.

Captain Venner was staring at Kai, his eyes narrowed tightly in focus. “Don’t tell me he’s one of them too,” he said in tones of shock.

“One of –“ George frowned, then looked up at the roof, then back at Kai again, as if he could somehow force Kai to change shape by staring at him. “Are there more of you?” he demanded. “Are you all over the place?”

Kai looked towards Irene for help – or, more accurately, for a suggestion about what sort of lie to tell.

Excellent. Maybe it's time to find out just how precise Kai was being when he said he should have killed _everyone_ in that room.

Thanks for a fun read! I missed Kai in that one, but Irene was fun. She's got no idea how fast her reputation with the Fae must be growing, does she?
