writing Christmas cards
Dec. 11th, 2007 01:45 amI love all of you -- well, most of you -- well, a significant proportion -- well, some of you, at least, dearly, but I have just been reminded about why I hate writing Christmas cards.
Hm. Side note. You know the sort of relationship in shoujo anime/manga, between a worldly-wise but weary hero who has Seen And Done Too Much and who hides himself behind a veil of flippancy and/or standoffishness, and the cute but sincere shoujo heroine whose warm heart and open nature and sweet affection will touch his heart and help him turn to the world around him again, help him open his own heart once more and care and so on?
Rose and the Ninth Doctor. It just suddenly clicked while I was watching a bit of Trinity Blood earlier this evening.
(And no, I'm not going to write a Doctor Who/vampires crossover. Besides, it's already been done, in State Of Decay with the Fourth Doctor, not to mention a couple of novels.)
---
The Sick Rose
O Rose, thou art sick!
The invisible worm
That flies in the night,
In the howling storm,
Has found out thy bed
Of crimson joy,
And his dark secret love
Does thy life destroy.
-- William Blake
