Requested Topic: Can I have a little something crossover for a change? I have a sudden urge for GetBackers (Ban and Ginji) and Sherlock Holmes (Holmes and Watson) interaction...

"And so we have to go to England?" Ban asked.

Makubex nodded.

"To Sussex."

Nod.

"To collect a battered dispatch-box from a retired pair of bee-keeping gentlemen living on the Sussex Downs and bring it back here."

"It contains certain mathematical documents on the binomial theorem belonging to an ancestor of mine."

Ban sighed. He looked up at the ceiling. He looked at Ginji. He looked at Makubex. "All right. The GetBackers never refuse a mission. But I just want one thing put in the contract."

"What's that?"

"That when this all goes horribly, horribly wrong -- I told you so."

"Perhaps I'll call it Flowers I Have Plucked," Shunsui mused.

Ukitake mumbled something vague from under the curve of Shunsui's arm.

"Or maybe Blossoms Fallen In My Path," Shunsui considered.

"That ought to please anyone mentioned in it," Nanao muttered.

"My beloved Nanao-chan is so retiring . . . of course!" Shunsui sat bolt upright in the bed. "My Kittens Are So Shy! The perfect title for my autobiography."

Nanao made a grab for the displaced quilt and curled herself snugly up in it. "Perfect, Kyouraku-taichou," she said from under the folds.

"Subtitled, Quilt-stealers I Have Known," Ukitake suggested blearily into the pillow.

"It is the most comfortable, warm, soft, gentle, cuddly scarf I have ever had," Shido said defiantly.

"It's really long and comfy-looking," Natsumi approved. "You could almost hide your face in it!"

"Odd you should say that," Ban smirked.

"Do you have anything to say about my scarf?" Shido snarled.

"Not a thing," Ban said. "I mean, the neon pink and orange suits you real well, monkey tamer. Perfect camouflage. And it matches your nose, too."

"Madoka's so sweet to knit you that herself," Natsumi said, hands clasped together.

"Next year, I'm asking for chocolates," Shido muttered into his coffee.

Must, must, must get Christmas cards and presents sorted.

It's interesting comparing the Trinity Blood anime and manga: Esther clearly got shoujo-heroined-up for the anime, and lost something as a result. I prefer the manga version.

I also need to hunt down a jigsaw for family use over Christmas. This involves finding something complex and fiddly, though not the cute or tacky sort. I've seen one in a local shop that might do, but am not convinced. Hm.

Exactly how did the Doctor lose his TARDIS to the Lonely Assassins~?
Due to http://incandescens.livejournal.com/589115.html

"Don't worry," the Doctor said cheerfully as they marched down the street. "What we have here is a perfectly normal case of non-linear recursive temporality. The first page of the notes that we've been given by Sally Sparrow say that we go to 1969 to investigate the Weeping Angels. So all we have to do is go to her shop and history will just happen as it should. And when we get to page two . . ."

"Well?" Martha said.

The Doctor turned the page. ". . . at which point they steal your TARDIS," he read, and came to a stop. "What? WHAT? WHAT?"

As I waited for Holmes to finish his private conversation with his brother Mycroft, I observed some of the other members of the Diogenes Club. Two of them, a bearded fellow in a black overcoat and a white-haired gentleman in a frock coat of striking plum velvet, were occupied in staring at each other.

The bearded man scribbled on a piece of paper and waved the result at his fellow. STILL HAVING PROBLEMS WITH THE TEMPORAL LOCATORS, DOCTOR?

The white-haired man dashed off a note of his own and displayed it with a hand that shook with fury. IMPUDENT JACKANAPES!!!
