Had quite a satisfying (if tiring) day at work today, and managed to get a chapter of one fanfic completed (it had been blocked for a while). Also wearing a shawl I finished knitting recently. This wouldn't be so major a thing, but the weather has turned wet and cool again -- it managed to time two downpours for my walk to and from work, bravo, excellent timing, don't call us, we'll call you -- and the shawl is agreeably warm, and I am feeling agreeably smug about knitting it.

Also, I've got Friday and the coming Monday off work, and am looking forward pleasurably to a nice long weekend.

(Do not expect this good mood to last. Expect moaning tomorrow.)

Blackadder: Yes, you see, Baldrick, in order to prevent a war in Europe, two super blocs developed: us, the French and the Russians on one side, and the Germans and Austro-Hungary on the other. The idea was to have two vast, opposing armies, each acting as the other's deterrent. That way there could never be a war.

Baldrick: Except, well, this is a sort of war, isn't it?

Blackadder: That's right, there was one tiny flaw in the plan.

George: Oh, what was that?

Blackadder: It was bollocks.
