fingers crossed
Apr. 18th, 2011 02:06 amLet's see. Slept in, cleaned bathroom, finished quilt, wrote a bit. That'll do for one day.
Absolutely beautiful outside, as I noted through the window, and on the occasion when I went out to deposite some trash. Let's hope it's that way tomorrow as well.
One of my coworkers will have been drawing the tickets for a raffle she's running over the weekend (for an orang-outang sanctuary: this is not the rabbit-sanctuary coworker, this is a different coworker.) I rather hope I won something: there was some nice chocolate among the prizes.
---
In western lands beneath the Sun
the flowers may rise in Spring,
the trees may bud, the waters run,
the merry finches sing.
Or there maybe 'tis cloudless night
and swaying beeches bear
the Elven-stars as jewels white
amid their branching hair.
Though here at journey's end I lie
in darkness buried deep,
beyond all towers strong and high,
beyond all mountains steep,
above all shadows rides the Sun
and Stars for ever dwell:
I will not say the Day is done,
nor bid the Stars farewell.
