With reference to a request for information from someone to us at work...

It is being profoundly irritating and time-consuming to assemble the data in question, but the end result may be to choke that particular cat with cream and stop any more of those requests in future. So that's a possible light at the end of the tunnel.

(Sorry for being a bit elliptical here, but I should probably watch what I say about it. But that doesn't stop me muttering.)
