wandering round Leeds
Jan. 4th, 2006 01:15 amWhat a delightfully self-indulgent day wandering round Leeds -- even if my new shoes are less than perfectly comfortable. Well, they're okay most of the time, but after a few hours on my feet they begin to protest. They will be better in time.
I didn't really do anything other than grocery shopping plus a few books, but it was a pleasant afternoon; cool but not too cold, fun looking in shop windows and eyeing sales, and whatnot. Picked up Alan Moore's Judgement Day and Supreme while I was at it, taking advantage of a shop's post-Christmas lowered-price-book-of-vouchers. Those should be good. I mean, Alan Moore, after all.
Please excuse any whining tomorrow evening after a day back at work.
---
Released by the First Lord of Banking, the Minister of Epidemics fell to his unwieldy knees, Dao Yi by his side.
"Sanctuary!" he implored. "Sanctuary for your unworthy servant, under Statute 12 of the 1472 Theological Reform Act!"
The goddess [Kuan Yin] looked down at the Minister with arctic eyes.
"You burned down my temple. You assaulted my servants. You attempted to engineer mass destruction upon innocents, and now you demand sanctuary. You've got some nerve."
