The weather is currently being unbelievably nice. Please last. Please, please last. Time to get out the t-shirts.
The latest chapter of Bleach continues to be interesting. I speculate wildly. It's a great sensation, not being sure what will happen next.
We had a four-hour meeting today. I did not have many brain cells left afterwards.
---
Song for St Cecilia's Day
In a garden shady this holy lady
With reverent cadence and subtle psalm,
Like a black swan as death came on
Poured forth her song in perfect calm:
And by ocean's margin this innocent virgin
Constructed an organ to enlarge her prayer,
And notes tremendous from her great engine
Thundered out on the Roman air.
Blonde Aphrodite rose up excited,
Moved to delight by the melody,
White as an orchid she rode quite naked
In an oyster shell on top of the sea;
At sounds so entrancing the angels dancing
Came out of their trance into time again,
And around the wicked in Hell's abysses
The huge flame flickered and eased their pain.
Blessed Cecilia, appear in visions
To all musicians, attend and inspire:
Translated Daughter, come down and startle
Composing mortals with immortal fire.

Date: 2008-05-08 04:01 pm (UTC)Also, I am betting that the whole stabbing of Kensei (in a non-fatal way) is an excuse to force a meeting of the Captains (and vice-captains) so that the Trio of Doom can do their thingy to them. (After all, they've tried it on ordinary citizens -> boom, tried it on ordinary shinigami -> Hollow: trying it on higher-level shinigami is the next step.)
This would also explain why the Vizards have their current membership, since there doesn't _seem_ to be any big conspiracy going on among those people who we know will become Vizards. It was bad luck. The bang went off and they were the ones who didn't dodge/resist/die/fail to be present/whatever.
Pure conjecture, of course.
Though if Byakuya's grandfather does die as a result of the Vizard mess, and Byakuya knows about it or finds out about it, there could be an interesting plotline there.

Date: 2008-05-08 04:36 pm (UTC)I do wonder how shinigami age though. For a while I thought maybe becoming a full-fledged shinigami somehow retards physical (spiritual?) ageing, but that doesn't seem to hold because of Gin and maybe Grandpa Kuchiki.
