Alas, I have picked up a chunk of freelance rpg writing which involves expanding on existing text that described a race of deliberately altered humans who lived underground and mined, and who were specifically altered by their masters to be this way.
Now I can justify the night vision. I can justify the claws on their hands. I can justify the resistance to cold and the tough skin. But what I'm having trouble justifying is why their masters would have given them bright blue skin.
(Alas, if they had been bioluminescent then it would already have been mentioned in the previous detail, so I can't use that.)
