incandescensYes, I know I'm up late. Tant pis. I've been watching The Devil Rides Out, classic horror film based on the Dennis Wheatley book, distinguished mainly by Christopher Lee as the hero (for once!) and Charles Gray as a nicely effective villain. The writers also go directly to the book for some of the occult jargon used, and since those two actors can deliver it with sincerity and effect, it comes across rather well. Mm. Self-indulgent but enjoyable.
Besides, I remember reading the book at boarding school. Some early images are never quite lost, even if one's tastes change.
I am becoming oddly fascinated by the Head Evil Scientist on Saiyuki, who wanders around, unshaven, in a lab coat, makes cryptic comments to the Evil Empress who is in charge, and always carries a bunny rabbit doll.
It's late. OTOH, I can still hear my mother moving around in the study upstairs, so she's still working on the computer up there, which should cut down on the number of possible sarcastic comments tomorrow morning. :)

And I failed to get that kimono I wanted on ebay. Sniped. Dammit. OTOH, given the amount I just blew on the pile of Saiyuki manga, I suppose the situation isn't that bad . . .
