They're going to be doing some building work on a nearby building (the "wind death tower" that I've referred to once or twice in a hyperbolic way - they're building some sort of baffles to cut the wind strength) and I think it starts tomorrow or Thursday. I'd be more enthusiastic about this if it wasn't going to block at least part of the road to work. This is where I find out how many minutes I lose (or possibly gain) by taking the alternative route.

In any case, and when I get there, we're testing a new mapping tool at work tomorrow. Fingers crossed there are no major issues. (Me? Cynical? Pessimistic? Surely you jest.)

Have been listening to the Hamilton soundtrack. It's very good. (Though it's wordy enough that I have problems listening to it while working on anything else, since the words distract me. Drat.) Sadly it looks as if the London performance, which is starting in November 2017, is already booked solid to somewhere in April 2018. Trying to decide whether I should try and order tickets for May/June next year just so I'll have them, or leave it for the moment.

My wife’s the reason anything gets done.
She nudges me towards promise by degrees.
She is a perfect symphony of one;
Our son is her most beautiful reprise.
We chase the melodies that seem to find us,
Until they’re finished songs and start to play.
When senseless acts of tragedy remind us,
That nothing here is promised, not one day.
This show is proof that history remembers.
We live through times when hate and fear seem stronger.
We rise and fall and light from dying embers.
Remembrances that hope and love lasts long.
And love is love is love is love is love is love is love is love is love
Cannot be killed or swept aside.
I sing Vanessa’s symphony; Eliza tells her story.
Now fill the world with music, love, and pride.
