Well, now I just feel stupid.

Boiler engineer people phoned at 7.30am this morning. (Yes, they did wake me up.) The engineer had a slot this morning, was I interested? Somewhat dozily, I said yes please.

Engineer arrived within about half an hour. The problem was that on the previous visit he'd told me that the timeclock was the problem, so I'd got an electrician to replace it. But the lower (automatic) bit of the boiler wasn't working.

After some investigation and inspection... he located a switch that wasn't turned on and that should be.

Now it is turned on, and I should be getting hot water on the normal schedule, rather than having to do the manual advance trick. But I am feeling just a little bit stupid.

Cheered myself up with some shopping this afternoon. Also pinned two small quilt covers so that they're ready to be quilted. So feeling hard-working and thorough there. Only, well. Still just a bit stupid.

Also bought a couple of travel guidebooks for Prague, and a Czech phrasebook. Heh heh heh.

Oh, and I managed to buy a new sweatshirt today. A nice plain (grey) sweatshirt, without a hood or zips or some stupid cutesy design on the front. I almost thought they'd given up making them.

I doubt it was you who turned the switch off? And surely on his previous visit he should have noticed the off-ness and done something about it. So if anyone should feel sheepish, I fancy it's he, she says with painful grammatical accuracy.

I would think that if he was right in the first place about the timeclock being at fault, then it's the electrician (who replaced the timeclock) who turned the switch off and didn't turn it back on again. So ultimately it's the electrician's fault.

But I still feel a bit stupid for not noticing the turned-off switch.

Well, you aren't necessarily expecting that people would leave the switches in odd places, so feel not stupid! Though you might now use some permanent marker for the positions the switches are supposed to be in, so you can check them in the future, should anything odd happen. O:>

And yes! Prague! Just for a few days at the end of March. I'm sure I'll be babbling about it here afterwards. I admit one of the main draws is alchemical historical stuff, but the Mucha Museum is also tempting, and, well, it just sounds generally fantastic.

That's really cool! There is alchemical historical museum there? Wah I never knew... It sounds really interesting.
Well I would love to go there one day. Actually it's not that far away from where I live. Maybe I will convince my parents to take me there XD

I'm not sure there is exactly an alchemical history museum, but the place figures somewhat in the history of alchemy, so I'm sure I'll find something to interest me. :)
