The monthly QA meeting today was unusually short, only lasting a couple of hours. We had to tell the three new coworkers that the QA meetings were never normally this short. No, really. Believe us.

Alas, none of our team had held horses that came anywhere in the Grand National. (Office sweepstake.) So none of us are millionaires. Or even office sweepstake winners.

Unfortunately the office sweepstake in cases like this is done totally at random. Otherwise we'd all be going for the good horses. :)

Well, time to pay someone to over-feed the other horses before the race so they're too fat and happy to do their best, then!

That would certainly be a happier solution than two horses breaking their legs and having to be shot during the race, which did happen . . .

Very much so, yes. The Grand National is not a particularly safe course, especially when you have forty horses running on it very fast.

(And this is why there is talk about stopping or modifying the race. Which I cannot say I really disagree with.)

As the horses cannot consent or not, to run on such a track, I'd say a modification is in order. O:(
