incandescens | a lot of the day spent reading

Well, I went through the new Pratchett/Baxter at a rate of knots. Entertaining. A good read. Interesting. Though it left me feeling a little . . . unsatisfied? Though perhaps that's part of the point of the story. That there aren't any endings. Things continue.

I'm now on the new Jemisin, The Shadowed Sun. I very much enjoyed her The Killing Moon and am also appreciating this sequel. (Even if it does leave me feeling inadequate for sticking with a fairly-European or even fairly-British setting in my own stuff . . .)
