Watched Doctor Who tonight. Rather charming, really. Definitely entertaining. Cheered the introduction of Kate Stewart (a pox on all those who write it Stuart!) even if I did find certain conclusions regarding people just being able to "wake up" from cardiac arrests half an hour later rather improbable. Best bit of the episode: the Savoy, before and after.

Have acquired a new pair of jeans. It seems that Marks & Spencers are beginning to entertain the surprising, near-heretical notion that it is possible for a woman to have a waistline that is smaller than the circumference of her hips. Will need to wear said jeans for a day or two to see if they actually work in practice, but it would be a glorious thing if they did.

'That pamphlet, of course, caused a considerable stir. Opposing parties began to be formed, some maintaining that Burkett-Smith was entirely right, others that he was entirely wrong, while the rest said he might have been more wrong if he had not been so right, but that if he had not been so mistaken he would probably have been a great deal more correct.'

All the jeans around here are either low-slung (perhaps in an attempt to evade the whole waist issue entirely) or low-slung and of the opinion that corseting should return to fashion.

Blah.

(And let us not talk about dressing a child in the 10th percentile of weight...)
