Back safely. Plane trip/s back went smoothly (apart from the first leg (Boston to Heathrow) being delayed two and a half hours, which makes it a good thing that the layover in between that and the second trip (Heathrow to Manchester) was an annoying four hours -- so see, it all worked out).

Had a fantastic time.

Now missing everyone. Thank you all.

Must go out and buy fresh milk, fruit, etc. Not currently as cold as New Hampshire, and the sun is moderately shining.

My goodness, between the storm, the election, and some health issues I've been having I had completely missed that you'd been on your trip over here! You certainly ended up coming during one of our more eventful periods! But I am relieved that the weather didn't botch up your travel plans too badly, that you had a good time, and that you made it safely home.

Considering how badly we could have suffered here in VA from Sandy and didn't, and how badly the election could have gone, and it did not, "grateful" is a word that is in my mind quite a bit this weekend,and a sentiment I'm going to try to hang onto as the "stupid" level inevitable in our society creeps back in and begins getting under my skin again. But it's not easy, I freely admit. (The number of racists protesting here - in very ugly ways- against Obama's re-election is apparently to be my first real test. *sigh*)

Heh... Reminds me of one of my oft-repeated lines (from nowhere in particular that I am aware of save my own demented mind) to demonstrate human beings' amazing (and not always productive) ability to adapt to pressure and abuse, which is the thought that you can probably eventually get used to getting hit in the head over and over again with a ball-peen hammer if it goes on long enough, but that's not to say it doesn't hurt or that it's good for you...
