mixed feelings

A slightly mixed day. York was very good, and I got several Christmas presents sorted out, and spent too much -- is it just me, or do the two generally go together? -- anyhow, I was rather pleased with that.

But then when I got back, I found that the person who bought the cushion on my etsy shop a few days ago has now received it, and is not pleased with it, finding it uneven, and wants to know if I will accept returns. Well, I admit that it is one of my earlier pieces of work, but I honestly hadn't thought it warranted returning.

I have told her that I'll accept the return, of course. And it was only about ten pounds, so it's not as if I've lost a huge sale. But I am still irritated.

I will go and kill some monsters on Diablo 3 or something to get over it.

One of the things I learned the hard way in over 20 yrs. or more of customer service in libraries and other venues is that there are definitely some people who simply cannot be pleased, no matter what. Perhaps this person is one of them - I haven't seen the specific piece, but every time I look at a photo of your work, it looks flawless, impeccably done. I had a run-in with an unpleasant person on Facebook this week myself. Maybe it's some kind of manifestation of the Mayan Apocalypse, people coming out of the woodwork to be far more obnoxious than they normally would be?
