eight months through the year already

It really doesn't feel as if we could have got far enough through the year to have reached August. However, the calendar seems to disagree with me, and here we are.

OTOH the Buddha has a line about people desperately wishing for an end to the burning heat of summer and not caring that this means giving up a hundred days of their precious lives. And I say, trade ya. August means the best part of the year is beginning.

I definitely prefer the middle temperatures, rather than the extremes of heat or cold.
