incandescensWork greatly improved today by the fact that, via prior arrangement, one coworker brought in homemade scones, and another coworker (whose birthday it was) brought in homemade blackcurrant jam. Both of which were very tasty. Even more so together.
A minor catastrophe involving the jam was averted by the fact that I was wearing a dark purple tshirt anyhow, and the rapid application of a lot of water from the tap. It did mean sitting around for a while afterwards with a damp lower tshirt front, but nothing in life is perfect.
I have received a Mysterious Parcel (TM) which is slightly less mysterious due to the fact that it's clearly labelled as coming from Colinette, a very good yarn company. On checking, my mother confirmed that it was an early-arriving birthday present and I was not to open it. So for the next ten days I can look forward to seeing it sit in the background mocking me.
