season of mists and mellow gloominess

Cakes were very cheerfully received at work (well, it is a Monday, cake helps) and went down with gratifying speed. There's still a bit left for tomorrow morning, which will be nice.

The weather is definitely turning gloomier and darker. I'm still just in short sleeves, and walking to work that way in the morning, but I can tell that those days are numbered. I should probably hie me to the shops and buy some autumn-weight tops before we reach full autumn and the shops are suddenly full of winter-weight clothing instead. (Mutter mutter shop clothing schedule.)

Shall join you in the mutter. Must buy new winter coat before the leaves fall.

This has the makings of a cold fall. When the furnace is on in September it's time to hoard those nuts and berries against a cruel winter.

I'm not sure what to expect of the weather over here this autumn and winter, but making sure that one has sufficient warm clothing is rarely time wasted...
