Survived work today. Glad to say that nothing dramatic happened while I was away (okay, admittedly there was no reason why anything dramatic should happen, but one panics) and that everyone liked the candy. Even the Peeps.
Also in passing, and quite unconnected to the title of this thread, if I should happen to see a book in a bookshop which I had thought was not due out for a couple of days yet, all I can say is woo hoo, pass it over, and I will be reading it while walking home.

The problem was that once the government pushed through its major cuts in policing, a lot of officers had got the notion that they might be able to unload anything even vaguely weird onto us.
"Although it is noticeable," Nightingale had pointed out, "that this never happens if the officer concerned has worked with us before."
