Muttering a little about Pokemon Go not being available in the UK yet. It's not that I'm a total Pokemon devotee, she says hastily, but those American friends who are playing it seem to be having such a lot of fun with it... Anyhow. No doubt it will be out over here soon enough. (And yes, I know that one can get round the region-zoning by resetting one's zone on the iPad to somewhere that the app's available, but I think I'll just wait. And try not to moan too much.)

Fridge/freezer comes tomorrow afternoon. Must spend a bit of time in the morning moving stuff out of the way between door and fridge, checking availability of power socket and plugging in extension lead, etcetera. But I can probably afford to sleep in a little. So that's good.

It's not that onerous to do the zone resetting - I had it all done and dusted in 5 mins. (I used my parents' address in Australia, but it's pretty easy to just look up a business or something in the location you choose). Hopefully by the time the UK comes online they'll have fixed the server issues - they're pretty bad right now, as soon as the Americans come off work it goes down!

I did actually do that once before, to play a game that was out in Singapore (and in English translation) but not out in the UK zone. But I think I can probably wait in this case, especially with the server issues that you've mentioned. Half the comments I've seen have been about how much fun people are having - but the other half are complaining about lag, or not being able to get on at all. I can wait.

If it's any consolation, I don't own a cellphone. I only have a Touch....and since there isn't universal wifi here, I can't play at all. *sadpanda*

Pokemon Go is all over my Tumblr dash and people seem to have a great time playing it. I've never been a Pokemon fan, but that game looks like a great incentive to actually go outside. It's almost strange no one's done a thing like that before...

I've heard there is a game called Ingress which involves sort-of-similarly overlaying the game map on RL geography. It's actually by the people who are now helping make Pokemon Go.

And if it does stay this popular, it'll be interesting to see what other sort of games people will make involving superimposing game-stuff on reality.
