My recording of Kismet has Samuel Ramey singing the main part. He has a lovely bass voice.

Otherwise -- hm. Quiet day. Slowly beginning to plod through Guide a la Troisieme Force. It'll take a while. Attempted to learn ya/yu/yo. Let's hope they stick.

Attempting to write Madimi throttling Madeleine. The heroine has to survive, of course, but there's nothing that says I can't beat her up first.

Besides, if it were anime, I'd have to rip her clothes and give her a few artistic cuts or bruises. Or should that be Dominic? He's the male character, so should be the tormented bishonen. OTOH, there's no way Madeleine's remotely like Miaka or Usagi or other shoujo heroines. Thank goodness.

Serendipity - two chances to post about Doris Egan in one day!

I love the Ivory trilogy. The first one is definitely my favourite, but I think the second might actually be better written. Have you read all three? And _City of Diamond_ as well?

Warning: there were supposed to be two more books after City of Diamond, but she got sucked into the land of TV writing, where after she has written an episode of Smallville she actually receives money in exchange, or something. But CoD is still well worth reading.
