recovering, and feeling sorry for myself
Apr. 3rd, 2018 01:58 amI've spent most of the weekend getting over a really annoying cold that pretty much wiped me out. It was fairly bad on Friday, but eased enough on Saturday that I thought I could make it to Follycon (Eastercon 2018, a science fiction convention, in Harrogate this year and therefore fairly local). I made it there and managed to attend panels and whatever for most of the day, but flaked out at around 6 o'clock and headed home, and spent the evening and most of Sunday feeling lousy. Still, better now.
The weather is somewhat less cold, but was raining most of today. At least we were spared snow in my immediate vicinity. Hoping for better weather tomorrow.
This week I go onto my new work pattern - I'll only be working four days a week, and will be having Wednesday off (unless meetings/events make it more reasonable to take a different day off - I've agreed to be flexible about this). Hopefully this will mean a less stressed lifestyle/workstyle. We'll see how it goes. I will try very hard not to sleep in disgracefully.
Still have to get through tomorrow first, anyhow.

Date: 2018-04-03 03:50 am (UTC)I would advocate sleeping in disgracefully, but screwing up one's sleep-wake cycles too egregiously is actually bad for getting to sleep on time anyway, so probably be cautious with that.
Yay for work modifications, though!
I hope the con was fun, aside from the Being Sick.

Date: 2018-04-07 12:10 am (UTC)But I think they were aware that I was capable of leaving if necessary - I couldn't keep up the current pace - and they preferred having me four days a week to not having me at all.
Or, well, maybe they were just decent employers and reasonable people. :)
