incandescens | Florence tomorrow!

Off to Florence tomorrow for a week - well, coming back on Sunday, so that's almost a week. My plane's conveniently late in the afternoon, which is great when it comes to having the morning and mid-afternoon to prepare (do the washing, empty the bins, etc) but less brilliant when it comes to getting into Florence at around 10.30pm (and that's assuming I arrive on time). Still, there is supposed to be a shuttle bus from the airport to conveniently close to my hotel, so fingers crossed.

I have guidebooks. I have vague plans. I hope to have fun.

(And yes, I will be looking around with an Irene-related eye for future book-hunting trips for her . . .)

And speaking of the Library, I've just finished the first draft of book six. Very rough first draft, but at least it's down on the page. I've got the next week off after Florence as well (a two-week slot), so I'll be using that time to recover from Italy and to do some heavy editing. But not right yet.
