high flight
Mar. 30th, 2004 12:31 amI do not need to have to sit through hour-and-a-half long meetings which could have been summarised in ten minutes, and which told me something I already knew in any case.
Mm. I'm probably suffering to some degree from Daylight Savings Time, and that precious, stolen hour.
Have also spent a pleasant while with solaas correlating the GetBackers characters into an Amber setting. Unfortunately, there's no real way I can use it for Ambercon UK this year, as not enough people would get the jokes. Ah well. Need to start thinking about scenarios for that.
Must also wear new shoes for first time tomorrow. Bother.

High Flight
Oh! I have slipped the surly bonds of earth
And danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings;
Sunward I've climbed, and joined the tumbling mirth
Of sun-split clouds - and done a hundred things
You have not dreamed of - wheeled and soared and swung
High in the sunlit silence. Hov'ring there
I've chased the shouting wind along, and flung
My eager craft through footless halls of air.
Up, up the long delirious, burning blue,
I've topped the windswept heights with easy grace
Where never lark, or even eagle flew -
And, while with silent lifting mind I've trod
The high unsurpassed sanctity of space,
Put out my hand and touched the face of God.
