Hmph. The Norwalk virus is loose in the hospital (which sounds far more dramatic than it actually is), so of course the slightest sensation of queasiness or the slightest slowness (or haste) to attend the little coder's room results in immediate nerves. Could I have it? Am I being stupid? Is nervousness an acceptable reason for buying myself a snack, diet or no diet? (If I'm asking that last, then I probably don't have it, do I?)

You know one of the problems with "repeat" functions on CD players or any other music-playing-device? There's the temptation to just play your favourite songs again and again and again till you drown in sweet comforting waves.

. . . Pardonne-moi
La profondeur de mon amour
Pour toi
Si c'est du sang qui coule
Au fond de moi
Pardonne-la . . .

The repeat function is bad for that, as is the program function (my *three* favourite songs.) This is why I insist on having a random shuffle function (hard to get on boom boxes, alas) and listening randomly while doing laundry or whatever. 'Hmm, that one actually sounds interesting which one is it...' *Then* I play it obsessively on repeat.
