just a little bit cynical
Sep. 24th, 2003 12:28 amMildly nervous about tomorrow's and Thursday's conference in London. I've been told that my mission (roughly speaking) is to network with the other data analysts there. It'd be convenient if they'd been having as much trouble as I have, because then we can commiserate and compare notes. OTOH, I hardly want to wish problems on them. Decisions, decisions.
There's supposed to be a "gala dinner and disco" tomorrow night. Odds of ten to one that it'll be the over-fifties attending the disco, especially drunken consultants, while the younger people present quietly edge off into corners, go out to local pubs, or retire for an early night.
Excuse me; my cynicism runneth over. I'd better try and control it before making polite conversation tomorrow, let alone attending any "breakout sessions".

Sea Calm
How still,
How strangely still
The water is today,
It is not good
For water
To be so still that way.
