Indeed I was tired today. Big surprise. Got a number of small things done at work, though nothing really major.

I have less capacity to make witty comments/discussion when I am tired. I also seem to feel the cold more. Or perhaps it's just that it has turned colder. Reply hazy, ask again later.

Eärendil was a mariner

Eärendil was a mariner
that tarried in Arvernien;
he built a boat of timber felled
in Nimbrethil to journey in;
her sails he wove of silver fair,
of silver were her lanterns made,
her prow was fashioned like a swan,
and light upon her banners laid.

In panoply of ancient kings,
in chained rings he armoured him;
his shining shield was scored with runes
to ward all wounds and harm from him;
his bow was made of dragon-horn,
his arrows shorn of ebony;
of silver was his habergeon,
his scabbard of chalcedony;
his sword of steel was valiant,
of adamant his helmet tall,
an eagle-plume upon his crest,
upon his breast an emerald.

Reading one of Grant Morrison's Animal Man books causes me to want to go out there and buy more of them; then again, this is a not uncommon thing with reading Grant Morrison.

On Thursday, when in London with SJ, I attempted to foist Alan Moore's D.R. & Quinch on him in spare moments. I wish I could say exactly why I find it so very funny and so very well done. Perhaps it's the minimalism of the piece? Every frame is packed and yet nothing drags, nothing is wasted.

This is a reminder to myself to tell arcangel that Alice and Dorison's Troisieme Testament has started to come out in English and is very much worth getting. (The Third Testament, they are unsurprisingly calling it; 4 graphic novels, already all out in French, the first out so far in English.)

This is also a reminder to myself that book 6 of the Requiem series is now out (though in French, not English). Hellfire Club is the subtitle. Sounds good.

Still tired. Astonishing, when I consider how late I slept in this morning. I must have built up quite a backlog on Thursday.
