Lady Friday was indeed in the shops. Maybe not one of the best books of the series, but perfectly good and readable and enjoyable; suffered slightly from having to divide the action between two viewpoint characters, I think. Now I just have to grit my teeth and wait for Superior Saturday.

Finished a fingerless glove! And am now quite clear that I should have used the needles .5mm smaller. Still. It works. It goes on the hand. There will be fewer holes on the next attempt. And the cabling worked!

Rivers and mountains displayed like a painting
Of an elegant autumn scene
Water soaks the sky at the horizon
Clear colors reflect cold light
Islets of smartweed, islets of flowering reeds
Bamboo and house shade one another

The traveler's sail hangs from the clouds
Beyond the smoke, the wine banner trails low
How much of moment in the Six Dynasties has history discarded?
Things end as gossip for fishermen and woodcutters
As I gaze sadly from the storied tower
A cold sun sets in the west without comment
