Himiko peered around the smoky bar. The problem with meeting colleagues unobtrusively in seedy underworld areas was, well, meeting colleagues in seedy underworld areas.

There were Maguruma and Akabane in the corner. Maguruma had a pint of beer in front of him, while Akabane had a glass of dark red liquid which he was sipping at gracefully.

"I hope that won't stop you driving," she said as she took a seat. She couldn't help stealing a glance at Akabane's mouth, looking for any evidence of fangs.

Akabane smiled. "A Bloody Mary, Lady Poison. Why, what did you think it was?"
