Rose can totally understand why the Doctor had to hook up with someone else. He needed someone. And she's not objecting. She understands that he felt lonely.

She knows there's been other people before her.

She thinks it's kind of sad that Martha is so obviously her opposite. A doctor and in with UNIT? Get real. That's nothing like her.

But when she has the Doctor, her very own Doctor, all hers, in her world now, she spends an evening looking up "Martha Jones" on the internet.

Apparently she died in the Cybermen thing.

Well. That solves that problem.

Had a really lovely birthday.

Opened those parcels I've been saving. Coffee, yarn, needles, a bag, a silk dressing-gown (from my parents' trip to Shanghai), cards . . . Had a lie-in, a late lunch, a necessary bit of housework, and then sat down in front of the tv with one of my favourite DVDs (the Notre-Dame de Paris musical) and spent a happy few hours knitting and singing along. (Alas, I am not a bass or baritone.) Roast duck for supper. A lovely time online this evening.

A really, really nice day.

Let's hope I wake up in time for work tomorrow.

The man (illegally masked in contravention of bylaw XVIII.ab.vix, viz, Mask Wearing By Non-Thieves-Guild-Members) attempted to escape but, Lieutenant Angua pursued him in the traditions of the Watch and arrested him for charges of Mumping, Obscuring Streetlights, and Street Miming. We believe, he may have something to do with the current outbreak of bats, viz. CMOT Dibbler's vending of Bat-on-a-Stick within the last two days, and will be, further pursuing our investigation.

PS: A bright young lad in red tights was arrested for, attempting to infiltrate the cells while disguised as a dwarf. We believe there may be a connection.

. . . While I will admit to some surprise in discovering that the young lady was of the medical profession herself, we soon found a common ground in the discussion of certain medical problems -- indeed, far more so than the "Doctor". We were discussing the catheterisation of the heart, when our attention was distracted by some ruffians who had challenged Holmes and the "Doctor" and were firing pistols at them. As soon as this minor problem was dealt with, Dr Jones and I returned to more interesting matters, and I confess I paid little interest to the "Doctor's" babble about alien invasions . . .
