pleasant surprises
Jan. 22nd, 2009 01:50 amOne very pleasant thing that can happen:
Finding a book in your to-read stack that you requested for Christmas, got, piled up with other presents, put aside to read as soon as you'd finished the current book, accidentally packed at bottom of case when travelling back home and didn't get round to reading, replaced in to-read stack, forgot was there for a few weeks, then turned it up and started reading it.
And it is a very good read.
(The House of the Stag, by Kage Baker. A prequel to her The Anvil of the World. Excellent stuff.)
