Department Secretary Tatsumi,

I attach my psychological analysis of Kurosaki Hisoka. Basically, he is constitutionally incapable of backing down. I would tie this directly to his in-life death and the preceding events. He is the sort of person who will break but never bend. I commend his partnership with Asato Tsuzuki, who may be capable of defusing these tendencies without outright confrontation.

I would also request that you send some people to remove the furniture trapping me in my office. I attach several copies of this report to pigeons in hopes that one will get to you.

"Vila," Avon said.

"Yes?" Vila said, looking up nervously from his smuggled copy of Twilight.

"That discussion we had with that Aizen person . . ."

"Are we going to ally with him?" He'd been the most reasonable person Vila had seen in the last year, including Vila's crewmates on Liberator.

"Not exactly," Avon said. "Package up all our communications with him and transmit them to Supreme Commander Servalan."

Vila gawped. "Why?"

Avon gave him his best why-are-you-so-stupid stare. "Because I can recognise another systems engineer," he said, "and I think he might just be better at it than me."

Himiko absolutely knows what's going on.

Everyone's having sex.

Or they're going to have sex.

It's quite obvious. All that hugging and punching arms and grabbing heads and losing clothing and collapsing onto each other at the end of a battle -- well, it's so blatantly clear and plain that she's a bit embarrassed that she didn't see it earlier.

And that includes Midou Ban and Amano Ginji.

It's amazing how much more sense the world makes now she assumes that everyone's constantly having sex the moment she looks away.

(Except maybe Doctor Jackal. Some thoughts definitely shouldn't be thought.)

And that's my last prompt cleared. Phew.

Bought a couple of pleasant-looking tops today in Marks & Spencers. One of them has truly extravagant sleeves, and may not be entirely appropriate for ordinary work wear, but I couldn't resist it. (Huge and draped at the shoulders, then tight at the elbow-to-wrist area.) I'm sure it'll come in useful. Somehow.

The weather continues cool and depressing. The weather forecast promises to be a bit warmer next week. I'll believe it when I see it.

Still haven't got round to booking oven repair (though am twitching at the call-out price that the quick-and-easy option quoted when I phoned up to ask). Must get it done.

It's an interesting experience having a Blue Oyster Cult album come on (via iTunes random selection) while reading some Hellsing, though extremely appropriate.
