Series: Sherlock Holmes / Phoenix Wright
Requested Topic: I see you've already gotten a lot of Sherlock Holmes requests, so instead I'll ask for... um... Phoenix Wright! In a crossover... with Sherlock Holmes? :D :D :D Their investigative methods meshing together in a wonderful kind of harmony (by which I mean totally clashing)? :D

“Excellently done, Watson!” Holmes exclaimed.

“It was nothing, Holmes,” I said, but I felt a glow of appreciation at my friend’s words.

“Nothing, indeed!” Lestrade snorted. “Doctor Watson, I’ve seen some fine rugby matches, but I’ve rarely seen a tackle to match the one that you brought him down with. Stronger men have tried, sir, tried and failed.”

“I simply couldn’t abide watching the fellow walking away with yet more evidence,” I said modestly. “Now if you’ll excuse me, I believe this Wright fellow requires medical attention rather than the antics of his pet spirit medium. Nothing personal, of course.”

“You go back and forward on the little square,” my mother Dara muttered to herself, “back and forward, back and forward, until it comes to a point, and then you go back and forward on another little square, back and forward and . . .”

“Was it the Logrus that did this to her?” I demanded of my mentor Suhuy.

“No, Merlin,” he said gravely. “It was a step too far on a path far better not taken. Stick to stockinette and garter, I told her. Make mittens and hats. But no. She must try entrelac. And now she must pay the price.”

Requested Topic: Hisoka and Tsuzuki (or Hisoka/Tsuzuki), "This is another fine mess you've gotten us into."
Due to http://incandescens.livejournal.com/925482.html

“Is there some reason why we’re impersonating a pair of crime bosses?” Hisoka demanded.

“It was Tatsumi’s idea,” Tsuzuki said, with the joy of one who for once is totally not to blame. “He thought it’d give us a useful entrée to the situation.”

“Let me see that.” Hisoka grabbed the set of instructions. “. . . Tsuzuki, you idiot, you do realize that bit there says china doll sellers and not crime boss slavers, don’t you?”

“It does?” Tsuzuki said, and tried to blink cutely.

It didn’t work.

And to be fair, they did get in. The problem was getting out again.

The All-Heaven Brooding Society (not strictly known as such, but more recognised as such by those who saw them leaning on balconies in a melancholy way) was having difficulty brooding on Christmas Eve.

It wasn’t the angelically sweet harmonies of the angelic choirs. It wasn’t the stars. It wasn’t even the maids trying to present them with mugs of cocoa.

No, it was the little man down in the street below, playing the spoons noisily and badly. Clang-takka-cling clang.

“Lucifer’s machinations grow ever more subtle,” Zaphkiel muttered, and wandered off to stare blindly into the sky somewhere else. Anywhere else.

Requested Topic: May I have an Akabane/Himiko holiday one, with milk, cookies and a warm cozy fireplace?
Due to http://incandescens.livejournal.com/925482.html

“Please don’t worry,” Madoka said again. “I’m sure you had a perfectly good reason for arriving at my party in such a hurry.”

The usual one, Himiko thought. Being chased by lunatics wanting to kill me.

“And Doctor Jackal said he was waiting for you,” Madoka went on.

“He was?” Himiko said, paling.

“Yes, he’s over by the fireplace right now. He said he was looking forward to having some hot milk and cookies with you, and a nice chat about your new year plans.”

Himiko remembered that she still hadn’t got round to drawing up her will. A pity.

And I think that I've got things under control.

Work is signed off for the moment, position reports have been submitted, things-to-be-done-next-week have been gone through with the coworker who will still be there.

Presents have been wrapped. Laundry has been done. Packing has been done. A convenient number of amusements have been stowed in my convenient small bag for probable long delays on the train tomorrow.

A very merry Christmas and a happy New Year to everyone. Take care. Be well. Be happy.

It is the one great weakness of journalism as a picture of our modern existence, that it must be a picture made up entirely of exceptions. We announce on flaring posters that a man has fallen off a scaffolding. We do not announce on flaring posters that a man has not fallen off a scaffolding. Yet this latter fact is fundamentally more exciting, as indicating that that moving tower of terror and mystery, a man, is still abroad upon the earth. That the man has not fallen off a scaffolding is really more sensational; and it is also some thousand times more common. But journalism cannot reasonably be expected thus to insist upon the permanent miracles. Busy editors cannot be expected to put on their posters, "Mr. Wilkinson Still Safe," or "Mr. Jones, of Worthing, Not Dead Yet." They cannot announce the happiness of mankind at all. They cannot describe all the forks that are not stolen, or all the marriages that are not judiciously dissolved. Hence the complex picture they give of life is of necessity fallacious; they can only represent what is unusual. However democratic they may be, they are only concerned with the minority.
