astonishing green
Mar. 27th, 2011 02:54 amBack home in my flat.
It's been an excellent week. I have been lazy, I have spent too much (mostly on beads, books, yarn and fabric, so nothing new there then) and astonishingly while in a secondhand bookshop this morning I ran into the very Cadfael book I was missing from the set. Whee!
Clocks go forward tomorrow. Bah.
The fields are turning green. Everything is going green. Vernal, etc. As I was coming back from Birmingham in the train today, I couldn't help seeing how green the passing countryside was. It's all shifted from the dull olive/muted brownish green of late winter to the light/bright green of spring. And we had gorgeous weather the last few days, even if it did turn cold and cloudy again today. Some cherry trees are already in flower. Others are just in bud.
One of my friends was at the demonstration in London today. I'm sure she was in the well-conducted part of it rather than the dramatic rioting part: hopefully there will be details tomorrow or Monday.
Good holiday, but also good to be back.
