not much day, really
Jun. 19th, 2011 02:43 amMust have been more tired than I'd thought: slept in very late, and decided to go shopping in York tomorrow instead.
Must remember to phone home tomorrow and wish my father a happy Father's Day.
---
“Someone tried to follow me earlier.” She undid her collar. “Does the name Ruth Vaudalbene mean anything to you?”
Kai considered it. He leant forward again, bracing his elbows on the table, and interlaced his long fingers meditatively. “Not from anyone I’ve met here, though Vale would know names better than I would. Do you mean – otherwise?”
Irene tried not to show her exasperation. Even though they were in private, even though there was nobody listening, and even though nobody in the vicinity, assuming that they had been close enough to listen, could have any idea what he was talking about, Kai felt the need to be mysterious. “Yes,” she said. “With regard to your family.”
